Meet Dr. Martin D. Hickey
Dr. Martin D. Hickey grew up on Staten Island in New York City. Received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Doctoral Studies from the College of Emporia. After serving three-years as an Officer in the United States Coast Guard, he went on to receive his D.M.D. degree from the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry, in 1975. Dr. Hickey practiced general dentistry for 6-years with the United States Navy before going on to receive his Endodontic Specialty Certification from the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland in 1983. From 1983 until his retirement from the Navy in 1992, Dr. Hickey was the head of the endodontic departments at MCRD Parris Island, the Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy and NAS Millington, Tennessee.
Dr. Hickey was certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 1992 and upon his retirement after 22-years of active duty service, joined the Pittsburgh endodontic team of Associated Dental Specialists. Dr. Hickey maintains memberships in the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Western Pennsylvania Dental Society, the American Association of Endodontics and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Endodontics.
